Learning how to coupon can save you hundreds, or even thousands of dollars a year if done the right way . Coupons can save you money no matter what stores you shop in, what areas of the country you live in, or what you buy. Learning how to coupon can help you save money on everything from food to furniture. There is a way to get to such an experienced level of using coupons that you can even get many items for free!
Learning how to coupon effectively is quite simple, but does take a little work. The first thing you must do is of course, find the coupons. Coupons can be obtained from many sources. The easiest way to get them is in Sunday newspapers. They have what are called “inserts” in them, stuck in amongst the sales flyers. Two popular inserts are SmartSource and RedPlum. These are full of great coupons for groceries and household items, along with some for popular restaurants. There are also many places where you can purchase coupons online. Look for coupons everywhere you go.
Once you have the coupons, you must learn how to use them effectively. Just running out and buying items because you have a coupon will not help you save money. One easy area that you can learn how to use coupons in, is groceries.
The best way to use your coupons is to match them up with great sales, and to buy enough of that item to stock up until the next sale. For example, if you use a certain spaghetti sauce that is normally $2.19, you can use your $.50 coupon on it making it $1.69. But, if you know your prices and watch for a sale on the spaghetti sauce, for $1.99 you can now use your coupon and your final price will be $1.49. That’s an easy savings of $.70! Imagine if you bought 5 jars of that sauce with that sale and coupon. Then you saved $3.50 and you have enough spaghetti sauce to get you through until the next sale, which means you won’t pay full price for that sauce again!
So, as you can see above, learning how to coupon effectively can easily save you money.
